Spun in Yorkshire but enjoyed worldwide, WYS spinners only stock British yarn; they are one of the only mills to make this commitment – and we love their utmost dedication to sustainability and local production. West Yorkshire Spinners (or WYS to the initiated) began life in 1997 with the passionate aim of reviving the then-struggling textile industry in the region, the original home of Britain’s worsted spinning industry.

Fast forward to the present day, and the brand has truly established itself for its high-quality natural yarns created using traditional spinning techniques. Local sourcing is crucial to their mission and success, using British wool that supports British farmers by obtaining materials from breeds such as the Bluefaced Leicester and Wensleydale sheep.

This painstakingly passionate process results in a range of yarns renowned globally for their softness, durability and beautiful colour palettes.
