Keep out the chill with this striped cowl inspired by knitted brioche.
Just like it’s knitted cousin, this crochet brioche stitch creates a double layer fabric that is both practical and stylish. Contrast your two favourite colours together for a fun stripe effect.

    Size:
Approximately 60cm/23.5” circumference x 18cm/7” deep (before blocking.)
The size is easy to customise and tips for doing so are included in the pattern.

    Yarn:
Fingering weight yarn (~380-400m per 100g.) Approximately 230m of MC and 190m of CC.
While I have used sock yarn for my prototype, you could use just about any fibre you desire!
And if you would like to make a super-warm and chunky version, why not try a heavier weight yarn? Simply choose a suitable hook size so that the fabric of your cowl is not too rigid. For example, I would use a hook no smaller than 5.5mm with DK weight.

    Skill Level: EASY~INTERMEDIATE
This is a project created using basic crochet stitches, requires no shaping, and only minimal finishing. The first couple of rounds could prove challenging to the less experienced crocheter, however this part is more awkward than difficult. Knowledge of post stitches is essential.
