Koivua is a top-down circular yoke sweater that features stranded colourwork and texture created with simple knit and purl stitches, making this an engaging yet not difficult sweater to knit. The sleeves balloon gently and are finished with a simple, classic i-cord. The body and sleeve lengths are easily adjustable, keep in mind changes will alter the yardage required.

Yardage: Note that yardage is estimated and may vary depending on yarn used, gauge variations or modifications.

MC: 620 (750, 884, 975, 1105, 1289, 1404) yards
567 (686, 808, 892, 892, 1010, 1179, 1284) meters

CC: 332 (402, 476, 525, 595, 693, 756) yards
304 (368, 435, 480, 544, 634, 691) meters

Needles (suggested sizes):
Ribbing and I-cord: US 4 3.5 mm
Main: US 6 4.0 mm

Gauge:
21 sts and 25 rounds over 4” 10 cm after blocking with main needle in both colourwork and texture pattern.

Swatch both colourwork and texture pattern as you may need to change needle sizes to maintain an even gauge. You should always knit your swatch the same way that the pattern is knit—in this case, in the round. Block your swatch as you will your finished garment and allow it to dry fully before measuring.

Measurements given are for the finished garment. This sweater is designed to fit with 7.5-10.5” 19-26.75 cm of positive ease at the bust and 1.5-2.5” 4-6.5 cm of positive ease at the upper arm.
