Uist is no stranger to the sudden emptying of Sian-grey clouds. Cheviot slubbing offers a glimmer of sunshine through the warm, rich, chocolate-brown deluge of Zwartbles fibre.

A super lofty, bitter-chocolate Zwartbles with irregular flecks and streaks of creamy light Cheviot blended in. This stunning effect is created in the carding process and is one of the many gorgeous effects that we can create with Uist Wool's unique Victorian card-line.

Fleeces are sourced locally from small communities in the stunning Outer Hebrides - an archilegago of islands flanking the Atlantic Ocean.

Cheviot makes this yarn hardwearing, bouncy and resilient for a garment or accessory that will last you a very long time. Zwartbles fleece is dense and bouncy and known for it's natural deep, dark brown colour.

It has been spun to produce skeins of variegated yarn which move easily from light to dark. This yarn hasn’t been superwash-treated, so it will felt if you want it to, and it will make excellent candidate for steeking, if you’re brave enough!
