An iconic yarn: Cashmere Lace by Gepard is 100% pure, high quality cashmere.
Using only the best of the clip, with long, uniform cashmere fibres, this yarn is a cashmere-lover's dream. It's completely different from cheaper cashmere which is often produced from unsorted, mixed cashmere with short fibres and varying quality.
Also, unlike some other cashmere yarns, this one has been carefully washed before balling - a process which means approx 10-12% loss of weight. Gepard could have made an extra 12% margin by skipping this step, but have chosen quality over corner-cutting. The washing produces a more bouncy, voluminous yarn.
This yarn is stunning on its own, doubled up for thicker projects or held with other yarns.Cashmere is a strong, wash durable fibre. The more you wash your cashmere, the softer it gets. If you're knitting a shawl to give as a present - then wash it before giving it away.

3½ - 4mm for yarn held single or double1 strand Cashmere + 4ply wool on 4mm needles = 19 - 21 sts to 10cm.
1 stand Knit Cashmere Lace on 3 - 3.5mm needles = 25-29 sts to 10cm
2 strands Cashmere Lace on 3 - 4mm needles = 20-26sts to 10cm
