    • Memory Lane: Embellished Knits to Cherish explores how we can infuse meaning into pieces we create and wear. Embellishing involves modifying a garment to make it uniquely ours: a deeply personal and creative way of reflecting our memories of people, places and traditions in our making.

This book invites you to discover the magic of Claudia Quintanilla’s unique blend of tradition and artistry. It features 19 enchanting designs inspired by her childhood in El Salvador — from lush orange trees on her grandfather’s farm to the memory of her mother's soothing voice. Through thoughtful embellishments, such as embroidery, lace, beads and crochet, elegantly simple designs are transformed into magnificent, one-of-a-kind pieces.

“My goal was to create exceptional pieces, each sweater beautiful even without embellishments but adorned in ways that evoke dreams and memories — special moments filled with joy, gratitude and passion.”

Claudia Quintanilla is a Toronto-based knitwear designer and the owner of the yarn shop Eweknit & Craft. She left her PhD studies in literature to pursue her dream: designing unique garments that are inspired by life and art around her as well as her roots in El Salvador.
